8-Bit Game Axe (Portable NES)

This is actually pretty amazing and I wish it would have been released stateside. It is a fully functioning portable Famicom (Japanese NES) which will play NES games with an adapter. The screen is backlit and they games look really crisp and colorful on it, better than on a TV (like how PS1 games look better on the PSOne LCD than on a TV). This is a dream to play games on.

There are some other cool features too. The first is there is a gamepad port so two can play. While great in theory since the screen is so small it is kinda hard to have two people see the screen very well. Second, there are 4 face buttons: (2) A buttons and (2) B buttons where one set operates normally and the other are turbo buttons. The final feature, and probably the coolest, is it has A/V inputs. That’s right, you can hook up any console, DVD player and VCR to it with a standard 1/8″ to RCA stereo cord.

This is one system I really want. I am hoping to find it on Ebay at a good price someday. This is an ultimate system for anyone’s collection.
